What does a Care Expert do?
Becoming an Associate Expert with J Webb allows experienced clinicians to apply their expertise in a different way. Your professional opinion will help legal teams to understand the lifelong care and equipment needs for individuals who have experienced life-changing injuries due to personal injury or clinical negligence.
What’s Involved?
You’ll use your specialist knowledge to make a real impact:
- Assess & Evaluate: Review evidence and conduct holistic assessments within your area of specialism.
- Create Holistic Reports: Outlining your recommendations for long-term needs such as care, therapies, equipment, housing, transport and access to social activities.
- Review & Respond to New Evidence: Update recommendations as cases progress toward settlement.
- Make Your Insights Count: Contribute to case conferences and expert discussions.
What is in a Report?
- Care & Support: Asses and make reccommendations on an individuals ongoing care needs.
- Aids & Equipment: Identify and recommend equipment to maximise independence and quality of life.
- Housing: Assess property suitability and highlight any required adaptations.
- Transport: Consider mobility and transportation needs.
- Leisure & Lifestyle: Take a holistic approach, recommending support for social activities, hobbies, and holidays.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Are an Occupational Therapist or Case Manager with 6+ years’ post-graduate experience.
- Support individuals with life-changing injuries, such as polytrauma, orthopaedic injuries, amputations, brain injury, spinal or spinal cord injury, birth injury, or cerebral palsy.
- Are currently responsible for recommending and reviewing long-term care packages for people in the community.
- Can commit to approximately 6-8 flexible hours per week alongside your primary clinical role.
